For interns
The AI Internship: 4 free weeks, measured weekly
Remote-first project work on APro and Orbweva portfolio projects, with Academy programme access. Perform on the weekly gauge and earn a place on the Shortlist, in front of Tokyo host companies.
What the 4 weeks look like
Real project work inside a clear structure, measured from week one, guided by a coach with an ICF-accredited coaching certification and Anthropic's certificates in Claude Code and the Claude API.
Weekly performance gauge
Task completion is tracked on a weekly gauge, so progress is visible to interns and to us. The gauge decides who makes the Shortlist.
Pitch and communication block
A mandatory block on pitching and workplace communication. Presenting work clearly is a core part of the programme, not an optional extra.
Academy programme access
Full access to the Academy's self-paced Claude Code programme for the length of the internship.
Certificate on completion
Complete the 4 weeks and receive a certificate documenting the project delivered and the skills demonstrated.
How intakes work
One cohort starts each month on the first Monday. There are no rolling starts: miss a date and you join the next one. Places are set by the supervision time available, not by demand, so the percentage below is real.
The cohort meets once a week for a shared 30-minute standup. Everything else happens in writing on your board, where your work and the feedback on it are visible to you and to us.
What gets you a place
Five checks. You need to pass four, and the first is not optional.
- You have your own Claude Pro subscription, confirmed in writing before any offer.
- You have chosen one track and can describe your project in one sentence.
- You can show something you have finished: a site, a video, a report, a repository.
- You turn up. A missed call with no reschedule within 48 hours closes the application.
- You write clearly, judged on your application text and your first email.
When more people pass than there are places, we rank on whether you have named your own venture, whether you are here to build rather than to be placed, and whether a current participant referred you.
Places per intake

- October intake: fullStarts October 5
- November intake: 0% fullStarts November 2
Applications are open for November.
The Shortlist payoff
Top performers on the weekly gauge enter the Shortlist. It is a curated list of interns, refreshed weekly, surfaced to Tokyo host companies directly and through our talent newsletter.
We are open about how it works: host companies subscribe to the newsletter to meet shortlisted interns, and interns know exactly what earns a place on it.
Tokyo placement is the outcome of shortlisting. It is earned on performance, never promised as part of the internship itself.
The AI Internship is free. Payment never improves internship, Shortlist, or employment prospects.
One thing you bring: your own Claude subscription. The programme runs on Claude Code, which needs a paid Claude plan (Claude Pro, about US$20 a month, paid to Anthropic, not to APro). The account is yours and everything you build leaves with you.
One ladder, three rungs
A free AI Internship, a monthly Academy subscription, and apprenticeships that Tokyo host companies commission. Every rung is earned, none is promised.
